Two Vietnamese universities ranked among Asia’s top 150

According to the list of the top 150 universities in Asia complied by London-based educational consultancy Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), two Vietnamese universities have secured their places.

 

The Asia QS University Rankings this year increased from 350 to 400 institutions.

Viet Nam National University (VNU)-Ha Noi maintained its ranking of 139th while VNU-HCM City climbed five ranks to 142. 

The next position came to The Viet Nam National University – Ho Chi Minh City. It climbed five ranks from 147 to 142. 

The Ha Noi University of Science and Technology jumped from the 301th-350th group up to the 291th-300 group.

The Can Tho University saw their ranking downgraded from group 251th-300th to group 301th -350th.

The Hue University also witnessed its ranking downgraded to group 351th – 400th.

The Singapore’s Nanyang Technological University (NTU) topped this year’s ranking list.

According to Prof. Nguyen Huu Duc, Deputy Rector of VNU-Ha Noi, Viet Nam’s top universities have made progress in many areas, helping them near the ranked universities’ numeric average for categories like students per lecture and citations. 

Regarding reputation among employers, which was evaluated by scientists and domestic and international employers, Viet Nam’s national universities in Ha Noi and HCM City clocked in at the regional average.
